Product Description

A matched pair: his in black agate and braided cord, hers in pale green Hetian jade and fine silver chain, both centered on a white agate peace circle with a bamboo leaf pendant and a 福 (fu,blessing)character charm in S925 silver. The two pieces are in conversation with each other — not identical, but clearly related.

Symbol Story & Cultural

The Bamboo Leaf — Resilience in a Small Form

Bamboo appears across Chinese material culture not as decoration but as a description of a quality: flexibility as a response to force. Bamboo bends; it does not break. In the context of a bracelet, the bamboo leaf — zhú, the character also read as zhù, meaning “blessing” — is less a symbol than an attribute. The plant does not insist on its own straightness. It persists by adapting.

The bamboo leaf pendant on both bracelets is cast in S925 silver — a deliberate choice, since the metal carries the form and the form carries the meaning. Two leaves on a single stem: not a single isolated element, but a pair. In the context of a couple’s piece, this matters: the bracelet is not about one person.

The Peace Circle — The Simplest Form of Completion

The peace circle — píng’ān kuò — is a flat disc with a centered circular hole: complete on the outside, open on the inside. It has been worn as a protective amulet in the Chinese lapidary tradition for centuries, valued not primarily for what it represents but for the quality of the material and the evenness of its translucency. A circle that allows light through is more alive than one that does not.

In this set, the peace circle anchors both bracelets — the same form, similar scale, the same silver threading — so that when the two pieces are worn together, they read as a deliberate pair. The peace circle is what they have in common.

His and Hers — Different Materials, Same Presence

Black agate and Hetian jade are both stones with a long history in Chinese material culture, but they have different relationships with the body. Black agate is dense, matte, and inward — it absorbs light and does not return it readily. Hetian jade is translucent, waxy, and outward — it shifts with light and breathes with it. Worn side by side, they do not compete. They complete each other, which is the point.

1. A quick note — our listed sizes are standard fit. Need a different length, or have a special size request? Just leave your measurement at checkout and we’ll adjust it for you, no extra charge.
2. Natural crystals aren’t flawless — and that’s exactly what makes each one one of a kind. Minor variations are a normal part of natural stone. If you’re drawn to a piece, make sure you’re comfortable with its unique character before ordering.

Intentions & Benefits

This is not a bracelet set where one piece is the accent and the other is the base. Both pieces are complete on their own. The relationship between them is conceptual rather than functional: they share a design language — the peace circle, the bamboo leaf, the 福 character — without being identical. When worn together, they read as a pair. Worn separately, each piece holds its own.

The black agate half of his bracelet provides weight and density. The braided cord introduces a different tactile register — slightly rougher than the polished beads, more present against the skin. The combination means the piece behaves differently throughout the day: the cord moves and breathes differently than the stone, and this variation is part of the appeal.

The jade half of her bracelet has a quality that Hetian jade develops with sustained wearing: the surface warms and deepens with contact. The fine silver chain is deliberately lighter than the stone section — the bracelet shifts in weight from one half to the other, which is more interesting than a uniform piece.

The bamboo leaf and 福 character are present on both pieces in the same form — a small detail that is easy to miss until it is noticed, and then becomes the thing that holds the design together. This is not a loud piece. It is the kind of matching detail that rewards attention.

When To Wear

  • As a pair: occasions where the relationship is the context — anniversaries, significant dates, or any gathering where the pairing is part of what you are wearing.
  • Separately: either piece works independently for daily wear in professional or social contexts where something understated is preferred. The black agate version has more visual weight; the jade version is quieter.
  • The peace circle reads most clearly at a conversational distance — neither bracelet announces itself from across a room, but in close proximity the design logic is immediately apparent.
  • Gifts for a couple who prefer something considered over something obvious. The matching detail — bamboo, peace circle, 福 — is specific enough to feel intentional without being loud.
  • Before putting on either bracelet, run the bamboo leaf pendant between thumb and finger. Two leaves on a stem. Small, but the casting detail is more refined than it appears at first glance.
  • Adjust the chain length before clasping. For the black agate version: the peace circle sits best when the bracelet is slightly loose. For the jade version: the fine chain adjusts well to different positions on the wrist.
  • When worn as a pair, notice how the two peace circles relate to each other — same form, different material. The black agate absorbs light; the jade transmits it. They behave differently in the same light.
  • Store separately when not in use. The black braided cord is more resistant to tangling than the silver chain, but both benefit from being kept in a soft pouch.
  • Black agate: Wipe with a soft dry cloth. Avoid prolonged exposure to moisture and harsh chemicals. Agate is hard (Mohs 6.5–7) but can be scratched by harder stones — store separately from diamond and sapphire.
  • Hetian jade: Wipe with a soft damp cloth. Avoid ultrasonic cleaners and acidic substances. The jade surface develops character with wearing — do not over-clean. The natural patina is part of the piece.
  • Silver findings: The S925 silver is rhodium-plated for tarnish resistance, but the plating will wear with prolonged exposure to moisture and sweat. Remove before swimming, bathing, or exercise.
  • Black braided cord: The waxed cord is water-resistant but not waterproof. Avoid saturated exposure. If the cord frays or loses tension over time, a local jeweler can replace it without affecting the other components.
