Product Description
A fine silver chain strung with a pale white agate peace circle, held in place by three butterflies in gradient green enamel — two flanking the pendant, one smaller butterfly on the opposite side — with two small freshwater pearls set symmetrically along the chain. Adjustable length, weighs almost nothing.

Symbol Story & Cultural
Agate is chalcedony — microcrystalline quartz — a material that has been worked across every civilization that had access to it for the simple reason that it takes a high polish, is hard enough to last, and has a quiet beauty that does not diminish with time. White agate in particular has a milky, opaque warmth that is distinct from clear quartz — softer, less refractive, more concerned with surface than with depth.
The peace circle — píng’ān kuò, literally “peace circle” — is one of the oldest forms in the Chinese lapidary tradition. The shape is a flat disc with a centered circular hole: complete on the outside, open on the inside. It has been worn as a protective amulet for centuries, not primarily for what it represents, but for the quality of the material itself. The best jade and agate peace circles were valued for their evenness of color and the consistency of their translucency — a circle that allows light through is more alive than one that does not.
The butterfly appears across East Asian decorative arts not as a symbol of transformation — the common Western reading — but as an expression of lightness and impermanence: something present, beautiful, and brief. In the context of a bracelet, this is not a heavy meaning. It is the visual quality of the thing that matters: three butterflies at different scales, arranged as if they have arrived from different directions at the same moment and are staying.
The gradient green enamel on the wings — darker near the body, lighter toward the edges — introduces a depth of color that contrasts deliberately with the stillness of the white agate. The CZ sparkle at the center of each butterfly adds a secondary light source that catches differently in different conditions.
The two freshwater pearls are set symmetrically along the chain — not as focal elements, but as counterweights to the peace circle. Pearl is luminous; agate is matte. Pearl is organic; agate is mineral. They read well together precisely because they have nothing in common, and the chain moves them both.

Intentions & Benefits
This is one of those pieces that does not announce itself. The peace circle is small — 14mm — and sits close to the wrist. The chain is fine. The butterflies are present but not loud. The effect, worn, is of something deliberate and considered rather than decorative.
The white agate peace circle is the kind of object that accumulates meaning through wearing rather than declaring it upfront. It does not ask to be noticed. It is the piece that someone who notices asks about.
The three butterflies introduce a specific kind of visual movement — not the pendulum motion of a pendant, but a scattered, arrhythmic quality, as if they arrived independently. This is different from a single focal charm: the composition has more to do with the relationship between the butterflies and the circle than with any one element.
At 4.12g, this is the kind of bracelet that disappears slightly when worn — present but not heavy. For someone who does not typically wear jewelry, or who prefers pieces that do not interrupt the line of the arm, this is worth considering over something with more presence.
When To Wear
- Daily wear in professional or social contexts where something understated but intentional is preferred — the bracelet reads as considered rather than blank.
- Occasions informed by East Asian aesthetic traditions — lunar new year, mid-autumn, or any celebration where the reference to jade and peace circle forms feels natural and earned, not costumed.
- Layered with other fine jewelry — the chain is light enough to sit alongside other bracelets without competing. The white agate and green enamel palette is particularly compatible with pale green Hetian jade or aquamarine.
- Gifts for someone who prefers quiet objects over loud ones — the kind of person who notices the quality of a stone rather than the size of a gemstone.
- Before clasping, hold the peace circle for a moment. Feel the weight of it — very light — and notice the quality of the agate surface. Run a thumb across it once.
- Adjust the chain length based on where you want the peace circle to sit: higher on the wrist for more presence, lower for a more relaxed line.
- Notice the butterflies at different angles. The gradient enamel is most visible from the side; the CZ sparkle is most visible straight on. Both views are part of the piece.
- When removing, lay the bracelet flat — the chain tangles easily given how fine it is, and undoing knots under stress is unnecessary.
- White agate: Wipe with a soft dry cloth. Avoid prolonged exposure to strong sunlight — white agate can yellow slightly with sustained UV exposure over time.
- Enamel butterflies: The gradient enamel is baked and sealed, but sharp impacts can chip the enamel surface. Avoid contact with hard surfaces.
- Freshwater pearls: Wipe after each wear. Pearls are soft (Mohs 2.5–4.5) and sensitive to acids — apply perfume before putting on the bracelet, not after.
- S925 silver: While the chain is rhodium-plated for tarnish resistance, store separately from harder stones. The fine chain is delicate — avoid pulling or tugging when clasping.
